RACER X: ritornano!

Pubblicato il 21/11/2002

I riformatisi Racer X hanno da poco finito di registrare il loro nuovo album che si intitolera’ “Getting Heavier”. Il chitarrista Paul Gilbert (ex Mr.Big) ha dichiarato:

“‘Getting Heavier’ has 12 brand new RACER X songs written and recorded in September and October of this year, Jeff, John, Scott, and I locked ourselves in my Las Vegas recording studio and cranked out serious grooves, insane guitar playing, and the best singing Jeff has ever done. John got such a huge bass sound, that I didn’t need many extra guitar overdubs. ‘Getting Heavier’ is basically the sound of the band playing and singing. All natural. No additives. It’s more nutritious and better for you. Like an apple freshly picked from the tree. But maybe more like a big spiky Indonesian ‘Durian’ fruit, glorious in its huge size, dangerous skin, and infamous aroma.
And if you are lucky enough to be in Japan, there’s even MORE!Our record company in Japan is Universal, and they are just as crazy as we are. They are releasing a special edition of ‘Getting Heavier’ with a DOUBLE-LIVE CD attached! It’s slightly more money, but all in all a killer deal. The double-live CD was recorded at the last show of our Japan tour in January of this year. The city was Yokohama, and the show was KILLER. There are many songs that have never been recorded live before, and also extended solos from all of us.”
